Intact Win ‘Best Vendor Demonstration’ At UK ERP HeadToHead

Last week saw Intact iQ compete in Lumenia Consulting’s seventh successive ERP HEADtoHEAD event.  The 2 day event, which was held in MK Dons Stadium, Milton Keynes, welcomed 140 high level decision makers to compare 12 of the leading ERP vendors and their solutions.

Pitched against the likes of Sage X3, Microsoft AX, Microsoft Nav, Epicor and other leading ERP vendors in front of an audience of committed buyers, it was an ideal opportunity for us to highlight how Intact Software and our flagship product, Intact iQ, delivers unique value for our customers.

This was something Mark McArdle, Group Sales Director, stressed in his 4-minute pitch at the beginning of day 1.

“When you consider that approximately 80-90% of ERP functionality is comparable across vendors then you have to look beyond the obvious.  We encouraged delegates to strip away what they consider to be standard functionality to find out what each ERP vendor’s standout differences are. We then asked delegates to interrogate these differences to make sure they would add value for their organisation”.

While Intact iQ differs in many ways to other ERP packages, Mark honed in on 3 distinct differences that add incredible value to our customer base. The first being the level of customisation Intact iQ provides and the cost and functionality benefits that affords. The second focused on how Intact iQ has been built to be easy to change to and easy to stay with. Finally, Mark discussed how our one degree of separation between customer and developer enables customer requests to be accommodated in a much more timely & efficient manner.

During the panel discussion later in the day, delegates heard from industry end users discussing the topic ‘Implementing ERP Successfully – Lessons Learned’. There were 4 ERP end user companies representing 3 ERP vendors on the panel. Intact Software was well represented by John Shipton (Financial Operations Manager) and David Nicholas (Intact iQ Project Manager) from Halcyon Office Solutions.  As recent Intact iQ users, Halcyon were in an ideal position to relay their experience of implementing their new system and made a valued contribution to the discussion.

Over the two days, delegates were also given an opportunity to attend a number of demonstrations.  Our demonstrations on both days were very well attended.  Day 1 was our High Sales Volume demo and day 2, Procurement.  Our demo team, consisting of Emma Nightingale, Mark McArdle and Kevin Thorpe made the demos highly interactive and engaging.

This proved highly successful when we were declared 2017 winners of the ‘Best Vendor Demonstration’.  The team were absolutely delighted with the accolade as the result is based on feedback from the attending delegates.  They were also thrilled to have received the highest score in all seven events run by Lumenia Consulting. This is no mean feat given the stiff competition at the event.  Everyone at Intact Software is very proud of this achievement.

I've been part of the Intact family for 16 rewarding years. After completing my Business Studies degree, I knew Marketing was a field I wanted to pursue. Prior to joining Intact, I primarily worked in the financial sector, focusing on marketing for credit unions. When I started at Intact, I handled all the marketing tasks by myself. Over time, as our team expanded, so did my role. Now, I specialise in crafting compelling content across various platforms, from blogs to video scripts. No two days are the same, and I thrive on the dynamic nature of my role. Whether it's diving into customer case studies or lead campaigns, I'm driven by the positive impact our solutions bring to businesses. In an age where AI plays a significant role, I remain a firm believer in the power of authentic content. When I'm not working, you'll find me enjoying quality time with my family, sewing, or watercolor paintings.
