The Beginning
Intact was formed in 1992 by Paul Marry, an accountant and Aidan Lawless, a programmer. Their one simple, but powerful, premise was – to create straightforward, easy to use accounting software. By 1999 the Windows version of Intact was released and not long after, Y2K and the Euro changeover proved to be the catalyst for growth. In 2004, the first Intact reseller is appointed in Belfast. By the mid-noughties, a reputable presence across Ireland and the UK is established with five more channel partners added to the distribution network.
Leading Innovators
2006 sees the beginning of the journey to develop a unique, modern and flexible ERP solution. In 2008 came the biggest recession to hit Ireland. Intact’s unwavering determination to develop next generation ERP software didn’t lessen. Intact continued to put resources into new product development and in 2011 Intact iQ was launched. Staffing levels grow from 27 in 2008 to 43 by 2013. No mean feat during tough economic times.
Intact grows exponentially
2011 sees Intact iQ launched in a 100+ user multi-location site. Australian company, Micronet Systems, also buy distribution rights for Intact iQ across ANZ. In 2013 Intact appoint a new CEO and non-executive directors. Subsequently, revenues grow by 46%. By 2014 Vision 2020 is born; outlining the business development plan for Intact.
Expansion, Awards & Product Extensions
In 2016, Intact acquires a UK partner and opens UK Head office at Hemel Hempstead. Key relationships are forged with BMF, HAI, Retail Excellence and UBT. In 2018, Intact launch mobile app (Access), ecommerce platform (Cliqx) and Intact Xline. Intact also wins numerous awards; Deloitte Fast 50, Great Places to Work and ERP HeadToHead Best Vendor.
