At the Point of Sale, the operator enters in or searches for the relevant Product Code. If this product is defined as a “Tile” type product, an ancillary screen pops up. This allows the Sales person to liaise with the customer in any given units e.g. Square Meters, Square Yards, Cartons, Tiles etc. There are also enormous benefits for the Stores Personnel who assemble the various orders and who carry out Stock Takes. They can count and enter the Stock in whatever unit is appropriate thus making their role more accurate. The system then calculates the total square meters to the nearest complete tile and multiplies this by the unit price to give Net Amount. This information can then be carefully presented on an Invoice, Credit Note, Delivery Docket or Quotation to clearly show Stores personnel or the customer what is on the order.
