Stock Control
In any retail, wholesale, manufacturing or distribution business, the control and movement of stock is of immense importance. Whether a component is of minute value and is only part of a 'Bill of Material' or it is a 'finished good' worth thousands, the Intact database treats them with equal value. The stock movement history, the landed cost, the stock take facility have all been modified over the years resulting in one of the most comprehensive 'Stock Control' packages available on the market.
The following outlines some of the key features of the Intact stock control and product database.
Key Features
- The 'Stock File' can comprise of 10 - 100,000 + stock items without any impact on performance.
- Products can be divided into groups which can be further sub divided into categories. There are also additional 'Status' and 'Department Fields' for extra analysis.
- Each stock item can be allocated a 'Bin Number' and 'Pick Lists' can be printed in 'Bin Location' order.
- There are minimum, maximum and re-order levels per stock item.
- Each product description can be up to 4 lines with the option to print the first or all lines on invoices etc
- There are multiple cost prices associated with each product - last, average, landed, standard.
- There are 9 different selling prices on the stock file with the option to have a specific selling price to each and every customer.
- Selling prices can be calculated by 'List Price - Discount', 'Trade Cost + Markup', 'Quantity Breaks' or 'Fixed Prices'.
- Landed costs can be calculated by using a combination of 'Duty' and 'Freight Rates' or 'Amounts'.
- Intact allows specific customer and supplier descriptions and codes. These can then be displayed on purchase orders and sales orders or invoices.
- INTRASTAT and VIES reports can be filed from the system with details stored in each stock file.
- Options to handle the product in a special manner - i.e. identify the product as a 1. Timber, 2. Tile, 3. Stocked by Size.
- Sales units and purchase units can differ with a conversion factor.
- 'Multi Location Stock Control' allows companies to set up numerous stock locations. Some of these locations may be 'non stock' whereby the quantity in them is not displayed in the quantity column.
- Quick access to sales and purchase order history for each stock item.
- Ability to project stock based on a fixed set of parameters.
- Detailed monthly sales analysis are available on-screen through the stock ledger options. More detailed and summarised reporting available through the reporting module.
- Ability to link 'Related Products' which can be prompted in the 'Point of Sale' or 'Sales Order' modules.
- Ability to link 'Alternate Products' which can be accessed if particular items are out of stock.
- It is possible to set up sales rep commission rates for each product if desired.
- The stock take can be carried out, details entered and the system returned to operation before the 'Actuals' are updated. Variance reports and additional checks can be carried out with the 'Actual' figures updates for the date of the stock take. All transactions in and out since that date will then be updates automatically.
- There is a 'Stock Adjustment' and 'Stock Transfer' options within the 'Stock Daybook' for additional control.
- Stock can be tracked in batches and by serial number if required
