Serial Batch Tracking
The Intact 'Batch Tracking' module allows a company to add a further element of traceability into their stock control. As well as being able to determine the location and bin number of the stock item, the user can see which batch the item is allocated to.
In some industries such as animal feed, stainless steel, tile distribution, it is a requirement to be able to trace the stock item back to batch level. Customers may demand that a new order be picked from the same batch number as their original supplied order.
The batch number is assigned at the goods received stage in the purchase order cycle. Stock adjustments and transfers also take the batch number into accounts.
In the sales cycle, the user can assign the batch number at the sales order stage and have this printed out on the picking list or more often, the user will record the batch number at the delivery docket stage.
In any of these instances, it is possible to view and report on the entire history of a particular batch of a product
