Repak Module
Repak is Ireland's first voluntary initiative between industry and the Department of the Environment designed to meet industry's producer responsibility obligations under the EU directive on packaging and packaging waste (94/62/EC) and the subsequent Waste Management (Packaging) Regulations 1997. The legislation aims to increase the level of used packaging recovery and recycling in Ireland in order to reach the targets set by European Parliament.
As a result of the legislation, Intact Software has been working closely with Repak to develop a module that allows the capture and reporting of packaging and packaging waste that is brought into the Irish Market.
In Intact you can now create 'repak categories' with details of the packaging and packaging waste associated with that particular category and attach it to a particular product.
Once the installation and commissioning has been completed, and the repak categories have been correctly aligned to stock items, the system will automatically record the approximate packaging and packaging waste when a product is sold.
A report can then be run at the end of each week/month/quarter or year to give a total of packaging and packaging waste that has been brought onto the Irish Market by category.
