Company Background
Established in 1982 by Michael and Dorothy Mollaghan, Mollaghan's are esteemed providers of furniture and soft furnishings, while sister company, Furniture First, is a prominent supplier of quality electrical goods and furniture. Employing a 35 strong team across the 2 sites, The Mollaghan Group is yet another furniture retailer to choose INTACT Software to power their business.
The Need to Change
Previously using Radii, for stock, sales, delivery and accounts,
Mollaghans decided they needed a more robust package. Based on
recommendations from contacts in the industry Mollaghans decided to
investigate installing an INTACT system. Upon further analysis,
Mollaghans found that INTACT matched their stock control, quick point
of sales and integrated account system requirements. Bronagh Quinn, IT
Manager, comments on why they chose INTACT,
"We felt that INTACT was
the best system to handle our needs. We required a system that had an
ability to handle customer and supplier accounts and deliveries
efficiently and integrate all of these in unison. INTACT could
confidently meet these requirements."
Project and Implementation
Actual installation on the 2 sites took 4 days. The company required some bespoke development as they used a sales-based commission for their staff.
Once the system was installed, staff had a chance to "play" with the system and after 6 months the staffs are seeing the benefits. When asked about the relationship Mollaghans have with INTACT, Bronagh had this to say. "Our relationship with INTACT has been wonderful. They were extremely helpful to us. Our consultant was excellent, patient and helpful in every way. If we had any difficulties they were sorted in record time and the implementation of bespoke work was done quickly and efficiently. Training was done on site by two consultants, the staff found that they were approachable and they had no problem asking questions if they didn't understand something."
The Benefits
Mollaghans have reaped the benefits since installing INTACT, "Because the package integrates the different aspects of our business we have a bigger picture of the business as it stands on any given day. We find the point of sale, processes our sales quickly and efficiently which is another great benefit to us" Bronagh comments. Since installing INTACT, Mollaghans have increased efficiency, experienced better controls and saved time on once laborious tasks.
Overall, Mollaghans have been very happy with the INTACT Program to date. "As our bank of information on our products, customers and suppliers grow we are looking forward to using more of the reporting functions of the program. Although we have only been using it for 6 months, we are already seeing benefits to the business." Bronagh concludes.
