But stock taking can be time consuming and expensive.

The Intact ‘Mobile Warehouse' solution allows you to embrace the advances in modern hand held technology to automate previously labour intensive warehouse tasks. The handhelds help you speed up your stock taking processes and simplify the task through barcode scanning of your stock.

Intact offers two options for companies who are interested in mobile stock takes.

The first option is a cradled solution (non-live) and the second option is to use WiFi Technology with a live connection to Intact.

Cradle Solution

Here, the stock information is downloaded onto a hand held device. Using a barcode scanner or inputted via a keyboard, the items are scanned and the quantities are added. This information is then downloaded from the PDA back into Intact. This is done by connecting to Intact using Microsoft ActiveSync and the USB synchronization cradle/charge.

Wifi Solution

Here you use a live connection with Intact. Several base station units will be situated around your warehouse or stock location. By using Unitec devices, a stock take can be carried out and updated simultaneously in Intact.

The application software which has been designed by Intact development personnel is run on the host system. The handheld appears to it like a wireless keyboard/display/scanner. This eliminates the need to program the individual handsets so multiple units can be added to the system seamlessly. The big benefit of this is that the communication is in real time.

Whichever option is used, warehouse staff and management will notice huge time savings and more efficient processes.

Stock Control

Simplify and speed up your stock take processes.

When stock-taking, the system allows you to select a location, select a product and add the quantities found. The system will deal with normal items, tiles and stock by size. Items that have already been counted will be highlighted on the screen and you will have the option to add to or replace.

Purchase

Although requisitions and purchase orders can be added through the hand-held, the goods-in option is the feature most users utilise.

This facility allows you to select a purchase order for receiving from Intact. A number search or supplier search is available to select the PO. The program can be used to receive normal products as well as tiles and products that are stocked by size. A warning will appear when the final item has been entered (all items do not need to be supplied) and then the status of the order needs to be selected.

Sales

Again, although quotations and sales orders can be added through the hand-held, the order picking option is the feature most users utilise.

This facility allows you to select an order from Intact and pick the items to be supplied for it. The list is sorted by bin location. A warning will appear when the final item has been picked and you can then select the delivery method.
