Job Costing

In many businesses, it is vitally important to track the progress of individual projects from a financial perspective.  It is important to know on an on-going basis which projects are running to budget and which are not.  Costs can accrue from many different sources and it is important that each of these are clearly identified within the job.

So if you are looking to track individual contracts separately, then the INTACT Job Costing may suit your requirement.

Multiple Sources

Costs can accrue on any job from a number of different sources:  

• Sales Ledger
• Purchase Ledger
• Purchase Order
• Goods Received Note
• Direct from Stock
• Direct Costs

These costs can be simply allocated to a particular project by filling out the Job Code field.

Where a particular Invoice is to be split across a number of different jobs, this can be easily accommodated by pressing F9 on the job code field where the invoice can be split across numerous projects.

Through clever use of the various Analysis Codes and Nominal Structure, it is possible to gain far more in depth reporting and analysis.  The INTACT Report Writer allows the user to design columnar reports showing any logical fields.

Budget V Actual

The Job Costing Analysis Codes are integrated with the Stock Categories allowing the user to closely monitor the costs against predefined Analysis Codes.  Periodic Reports can then be generated showing Budget V Actual figures on each individual project.  This allows tighter control and better overall analysis of each job.
